Oasis Wildlife Fuerteventura is the former Oasis Park at La Lajita: a zoo, botanical garden and rescue centre on the Jandía road, 15 minutes from Costa Calma. The official ticket costs €41.50 per adult, €27.50 per child aged 4 to 11 and €38 for over-60s; under-4s go free. And the Oasis Bus from the hotels is no longer free.
Our verdict: it is the most complete day out with children in the south of Fuerteventura, as long as a zoo with paid animal encounters doesn't bother you. From Corralejo, it is 90 minutes by bus each way.
Who runs it and what the ticket includes
The company is Museo del Campo Majorero, S.L. It started in 1985 as a plant nursery and camel farm and covers some 780,000 m², 160,000 of them botanical garden. The "largest botanical garden in Europe" claim, with more than 1,000 species, comes from the park itself. The official website is oasiswildlifefuerteventura.com, not oasiswildlife.com.
The ticket includes the zoo, botanical garden, rescue centre and four shows (sea lions, parrots, wildlife and birds); the animal experiences cost extra.
Ticket prices: official website versus booking platforms
The official shop adds €38 for disabled adults, €22.50 for disabled children (4–15) and a tab for Canary Islands residents, which visitors can't use. Online tickets must be bought the day before at the latest; they are valid for a year but are non-refundable.
GetYourGuide sells it at the same price, from €41.50 (4.6 from 3,815 reviews), and so does Civitatis, with free cancellation up to 24 hours before. Nobody sells it for less: if your dates might change, use the platform with cancellation; if they are fixed, the official website has every rate in one place.

Animal welfare: what we know
The park sells paid encounters with sea lions, camels, lemurs, giraffes and elephants, and keeps African elephants. It is reported to be a member of the zoo associations AIZA and EAZA and of European breeding programmes (Cuvier's gazelle, scimitar oryx and African elephant, among others); it publishes no external welfare audit.
Supporters of this model point to the rescue centre and the breeding of endangered species. Critics question paid contact with wild animals and keeping large mammals in captivity.

Who it suits, who it doesn't, and the alternatives
Yes: families staying in Costa Calma, Esquinzo or Jandía. No: anyone who avoids zoos with paid animal contact, or anyone staying in Corralejo without a car.
For animals in the wild, the dolphin boats leave from Morro Jable. With children in the north, the equivalent is Acua Water Park in season or Lobos. On other islands, the closest thing is Rancho Texas in Lanzarote or Loro Parque in Tenerife; more companies in operators.
