Acua Water Park is Fuerteventura's only water park, in Corralejo: 25,000 m² and more than 14 rides, according to the park itself. The first thing to know is that it isn't open all year: it usually opens the week before Easter and closes in early November, and in spring and autumn it shuts on Wednesdays and Thursdays. A standard one-day ticket costs from €23 on its website and €30 on GetYourGuide and Tiqets: €7 more per adult on the platforms.
It occupies the former Baku park, reopened as Acua in April 2014 after a refurbishment (acuawaterpark.com). Our verdict: for families staying in the north of Fuerteventura it is a good day of water slides at a sensible price, if you buy on the official website and check the calendar. The classic mistake is turning up on a Thursday in September or in winter and finding it closed.
Season and opening times: the usual calendar
The exact dates change every year with Easter. Last season's pattern was:
| Period | Opening times | Days |
|---|---|---|
| Opening, around Easter | 10:30–17:30 | daily |
| Mid-April to late May | 10:30–17:30 | closed Wednesdays and Thursdays |
| June, July and August | 10:00–18:00 | daily |
| September to mid-October | 10:30–17:30 | closed Wednesdays and Thursdays |
| Mid-October to closing, in early November | 10:30–17:30 | daily |
The water rides stop 30 minutes before closing, the opening times don't change for bad weather, and with your wristband you can leave and come back in. Before you buy, check the official calendar.
Ticket prices: official website versus GetYourGuide and Tiqets
| Ticket | Official website (online) |
|---|---|
| 1 day, standard | from €23 |
| 2 days, standard | from €33.50 |
| 1 day, Canary Islands resident | from €15 |
| 2 days, Canary Islands resident | from €25 |
| Annual pass | €95 on the tickets page, €125 on the home page banner |
The annual pass appears at two prices on the park's own website: confirm it in the basket. Under-4s go free and there are child (4–11) and disability rates, but the website doesn't show those amounts or the ticket office prices. Online tickets are dated and must be bought the day before at the latest; on the day itself, only at the ticket office. There are no refunds: if you cancel, you get a credit code.
GetYourGuide sells it from €30 (4.3 from 896 reviews) and Tiqets also from €30. The official website is €7 cheaper per adult; the platform is only worth it if its cancellation policy gives you something the park's credit code doesn't.

How to get to Acua Water Park
Free parking at the entrance. Without a car, Tiadhe bus route 6 runs from Puerto del Rosario (€3.40). Height limits, ages and accessibility
The children's slides are for under 120 cm; Fast River, Zig-Zags, Kamikazes and Dark Cave require at least 120 cm, and the rides with rubber rings have a 120 kg maximum. Under-12s must be with an adult; 12 to 16-year-olds can go in alone with a signed authorisation and a copy of a parent's ID document (DNI). There is an amphibious wheelchair for the wave pool and priority entry for disabled visitors. "Rapid River" and "Black Hole", names the tourist board website still uses, are now Fast River and Dark Cave.

How it compares with water parks on other islands
| Park | Island | Open | Adult |
|---|---|---|---|
| Acua Water Park | Fuerteventura | spring to early November | from €23 online |
| AquaPark Costa Teguise | Lanzarote | spring to early November | €28 |
| Aqualava (Playa Blanca) | Lanzarote | all year, geothermally heated pools | €30 |
| Aqualand Maspalomas | Gran Canaria | daily | €41 at the ticket office, from €32 online |
| Siam Park | Tenerife | all year | €44 |
In winter, the nearby alternative is Aqualava, across the strait: its trip from Corralejo with ferry, bus and entry costs €55 per adult and €35 per child. For big slides, the benchmark is Siam Park; the full comparison is in water parks.
Who it suits: families staying in Corralejo or El Cotillo between April and October. Not for: anyone travelling in winter or passing through Tenerife in search of big slides. Other ideas with children: Lobos in the north and Oasis Wildlife in the south; more reviews in operators.
