Legal information

canaryislands.com.es privacy policy

This website doesn't ask for your data, has no user accounts, sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics. Here we explain the little that is recorded and who handles it.

Updated 2 October 2026Facts checked against official sources

This policy applies to canaryislands.com.es in all its languages. Effective date: 2 October 2026.

Who is responsible

The data controller is the publisher of canaryislands.com.es. Any request about your data is handled at web@canaryislands.com.es.

What we don't do

There is no user registration, no forms, no newsletters and no comments. The website sets no cookies of its own of any kind and uses no analytics tools, either our own or third-party. Fonts are served from our own server, so reading a page doesn't notify any font provider. We don't sell or pass on data to anyone.

Server logs

Like any website, the server technically records each visit: IP address, date and time, page requested and browser type. These logs are generated and kept by the hosting provider, for security and operational purposes, for the period set by its own policy. We don't use them to identify you or to build profiles. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure and available (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

What is stored in your browser

Two preferences are saved in your browser's local storage (localStorage), not in a cookie:

  • ci-month: the travel month you pick under "Travelling in" in the header (a number from 1 to 12), so we can show you the weather for that month;
  • ci-cc: your choice about the booking calendars, 1 if you choose "Always load them" and 0 if you choose "Only when I click".

These values never leave your device and never reach us. You can change the second one with the "Cookie preferences" button in the footer, or delete both from your browser settings. More detail in our cookie policy.

The calendars with dates and availability on some pages belong to GetYourGuide and Tiqets: their frames and scripts only load after you choose "Always load them" or press "See dates and availability" on a particular calendar. Until then, the page doesn't contact those companies. Once they load, or when you follow one of our booking links, you are dealing with that platform, which applies its own privacy and cookie policies. Your booking, your name and your payment details stay with the platform; we don't see them.

The same applies to links to official websites, ferry lines or operators, and to the "Directions" links on the maps, which open Google Maps: once you leave this website, each site's own policy applies.

If you write to us

If you send us an email, we use your address and what you tell us only to reply and, if it's a correction, to check it. We don't add it to any list. We keep the conversation for as long as we need to deal with your query and delete it if you ask us to.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spain's Organic Law 3/2018, you can request access to, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and portability of your data by writing to web@canaryislands.com.es. If you feel we haven't handled your request properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (https://www.aepd.es/).

Changes

If what the website does with data changes, we'll update this page and its effective date.
