Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park rolls three things into one ticket: a Wild West-themed animal park, 15–20-minute shows and a pool area with water slides, Aqua Rancho. For a family with children it is a full day with everything sorted, free parking and heated pools in winter. In return, the price is high for the island and the park keeps dolphins and sea lions.
Who runs it and what the park is
It is on C/ Alcalde Cabrera Torres, in Puerto del Carmen, and the official website is ranchotexaslanzarote.com. The Wild West theme isn't random: the park dedicates it to the Canary Island families (55 people, 43 of them from Lanzarote) who founded San Antonio, Texas, in 1731.
The pools are heated with geothermal energy and the park has its own 2 MW solar plant. Along with Aqualava, it is the only place in Lanzarote with leisure pools open in winter, when the seasonal water parks close.
Rancho Texas prices: tickets and resident rates
| Ticket | Standard | Canary Islands resident |
|---|---|---|
| Adult | €45 | €24 |
| Child 3–12 | €30 | €18 |
| Over-65 | €30 | €18 |
| 0–2 | free | free |
Large families get 20% off and disabled visitors 15%; both are applied at the park itself. The resident rates are for people living in the Canaries. Tickets are non-refundable. The shop says they are valid for a year from purchase and the FAQ says they don't expire: go by the year.
Direct or through a platform. On the official shop and on Tiqets it costs the same, €45. The difference is in the terms: the park doesn't refund, whereas on Tiqets you can cancel or change up to 23:59 the day before; there it scores 4.7 out of 5 from more than 300 reviews. The park's website, on the other hand, lets you add the shuttle bus in the same purchase.

What the ticket includes and opening times
One ticket covers the animal park, the shows and the pools with water slides.
- Park: daily from 09:30 to 17:30.
- Pools: 09:30 to 17:00. Water slides: 12:30 to 17:00.
- Restaurants: from 09:30–10:00 to 17:00; kitchens close at 16:30.
- Shows: 15–20 minutes each, with dolphins, sea lions, birds of prey, and macaws and cockatoos. There are two timetables, one for summer (late June to early September) and one for the rest of the year; check it when you arrive.
There are paid extras booked separately: a dolphin encounter, a sea lion encounter and "Trainer for a Day". Resale websites advertise the dolphin encounter at around €195 per adult; confirm the official price in the park's shop.
Accessibility and getting there. The park has no steps and the pool has a hoist. Parking is free and the shuttle bus is booked when you buy your ticket. The busiest days are Mondays and Thursdays in July and August.
Country Night: the Wild West evening
On Tuesdays and Fridays the park puts on Country Night: doors open at 18:30 and it finishes around 22:45, with a barbecue buffet, unlimited beer, sangria and soft drinks, and a lasso and whip show. Resale websites advertise it at around €62 per adult; for the official price and availability, see the park's website.
The animal question
The park keeps bottlenose dolphins and sea lions, shows them in performances and sells in-water encounters with them. For some visitors it is a way of bringing children closer to these animals; animal welfare organisations oppose keeping cetaceans in captivity, so make your decision with that in mind.

Who it suits and the alternatives
Rancho Texas suits families with children aged 3 to 12 who want animals and water on the same day without leaving Puerto del Carmen, and in winter, when the seasonal water parks close. If you only want slides, Aqualava (Playa Blanca, €30, open all year) and the Aquapark in Costa Teguise (€28, closed in winter) are cheaper; we compare them in Canary Islands water parks.
If you are staying in Puerto del Carmen, the beach next door has jet skis and water sports. More ideas in the Lanzarote guide and other reviews in operators and platforms.
